Abortion Services

Up to 12 week abortions are completed in a single visit. You will be in the clinic for about 2 hours.

12 to 22 week abortions are completed in a two-step procedure. On the first day, dilators will be placed in the cervix to gently and slowly open the cervix overnight. You will return the following day to have the procedure.

After any abortion a follow-up procedure is very important. You must come in for a post-procedural visit 2 to 3 weeks after your abortion. There is no charge for this visit.

Medical Abortion

Medical abortion with RU486 (the abortion pill) is available for pregnancies up to 9 weeks from the start of the last menstrual period. With this method, a pill is given to stop the pregnancy and a second medicine is given two days later to cause the pregnancy to be expelled. Except in rare cases, no surgical procedure is needed.

Surgical Abortion

Surgical abortion services are available up to 22 weeks from the start of the last menstrual period. Abortions are performed with your choice of local anesthesia (up to 12 weeks only), light sedation with an oral sedative, or intravenous sedation (twilight sleep).

If you are uncertain about your plans for your pregnancy we will counsel you about all options. If you choose, we will refer your for adoption services or prenatal care.
